On May 17, 2023, I met Stefano in person who was my guide for the day. The visit started at the city Commune where I met the officials that showed me the original documents and toured the town including the church where my grandparents were married as well as the street where they lived.

During the afternoon, Stefano organized the most unexpected meeting with Signor Giancarlo and his friend, who are invested in reviving and keeping alive the traditional music, dances, and history of Montefalcone.

Children were wearing traditional customs and our host, and his friend played for us some of the original music with self-made instruments.

The large files that Stefano compiled, showed his dedication and his research ability to document several generations back of my relatives, including meeting a distant cousin and his family that are still living in Montefalcone! During my tour to Montefalcone, it was clear that Stefano had a personal interest in me as a person as well as carefully listening to the oral report of my family story.
